OEM BMW CD changer, MP3 & WMA compatible

I have for sale one BMW 6-Disc CD Changer for all I-Bus vehicles. It will work on the following:
E38 7-series (740i, 740iL, 750iL) Model year 1999 - 2001
E39 5-series (525i, 528i, 530i, 540i, M5)
E46 3-Series (323i, 325i, 328i, 330i, M3)
E53 X5 (3.0i, 4.4i, 4.6is, 4.8is)
E83 X3 (2.5i, 3.0i, 3.0is)
E85 & E86 Z4 (2.5i, 2.8i, 3.0i, 3.0is, M)
E52 Z8 ?? not sure about this model

Included are the following genuine BMW parts:
65 12 9 131 853 BMW 6 CD CHANGER AI, List = $502 plus a $500 core price.
65 12 8 364 931 CD MAGAZINE

The CD changer was manufactured in April 2007 and is the latest model w/ the latest software. It was installed briefly to make sure it works
and as a result there are some minor scratches on the side due to the mounting brackets. Otherwise the unit looks brand new!

It supports regular CDs, burned CD's with .MP3 files AND .WMA files

If your BMW radio is manufactured after 09/2005 (car was built after then or the radio was replaced after that point) then it will also support
MP3 tags and show you the Artist Name, Song Name and Album Title for MP3s. This text does NOT show for WMA files.

Note: BMW changers which support MP3 files do NOT work for Premium Sound systems which use the Digital Input for the CD Changer. This may apply to vehicles manufactured before model year 2002. One solution is to replace your radio w/ a newer one that uses the Analog input for the CD
Changer... plus the newer radios support Artist Name, Song Name and Album Title for MP3s! I did this on a 1999 740i and it worked fine.

Note: the changer is currently set for use in a vertical position. If your mounting position is different you will need to move the damper pins
on both sides (a small door opens and you can move the damper pin to one of 5 locations - very simple). Or I can do this for you.

$300 + shipping via UPS Ground

it's that your final price?....

ripp222 04-07-2009 07:53 PM

I'm open to offers if they are close.
If it doesn't sell in the next couple weeks, then I'll drop the price.

No offense meant by the following comments..so take them as creative criticism, PLEASE.. we are all friends here..

You'll never see the price you are asking.. Maybe $200..
Why? Because you are comparing dealer/OEM prices most likely using RealOEM.com.. No one here (or anywhere I've ever seen) pays those prices..People come here for BARGAINS, just like they do on ebay. Here's one of the $299 "regulars" on ebay as a point of comparison: http://cgi.ebay.com/BMW-6-SIX-DISC-C...1%7C240%3A1318

Our sponsors will sell the exact same unit for 1/2 your asking price. Ebay has pages of folks who have converted from CD to DICE or Intravee or some other audio that requires the 6 and 12 pin connector, which effectively kills using the CD ever again..

So please, please, don't be upset with me..but do some research. I'm sure your CD changer is PERFECT, it's simple a matter of supply and demand.

Good luck..and if you are willing to wait for someone who doesnt do their due diligence to offer you your price, you might catch a "fish" and frankly I hope you are successful.. But I am just trying to give you some FRIENDLY advice having been on this and the E46Fanatics boards for a long time, as well as a buyer and seller on eBay.

Good luck friend.. and best wishes for your sale..
PS. I dont know why my reply came out twice..I even tried to cancel one, but no luck..sorry about the duplicate

I take it that means my 2006 4.4L w/ the DSP will not be compatible with this changer?

No, yours would be compatible.

I think you can also buy an adapter to make it compatible with that input.

Personally I don't think your post is appropriate in this forum. If you are not interested in the item then don't kill someone else's sale.

Also, I've yet to see anyone sell a new, late production date, -853 changer for $150. I think you are just slightly exaggerating. It retails for $501.91. No BMW dealer is going to give you 40% off list.

Finally, CD's have numerous advantages in sound quality over ipod's, MP3 players, etc. so adding that info to the post makes zero sense.

In short, be nice otherwise what goes around...

Buyer/Looker Guidelines
If you see an item you are interested in, contact the buyer directly to complete the transaction. Do not assume that the item is yours until you and the seller have agreed that it is yours.
This is not the place to debate or comment on the price of the item or your personal preferences about it, good or bad. If you don't like the price or something about the item, don't buy it and move on.
If you choose to purchase an item that you have found here in the classifieds then you do so at your own risk knowing fully that this is a private party transaction. You agree that Xoutpost is not responsible for any sales that do not turn out as you expected them to.
