Looking to sell my X5, reason being, I have to downsize. About 78k miles, I have all service records, just replaced all brake pads and rotors, I am in the process of replacing oil separator and valve cover gaskets and hoses. Many front suspension components have been replaced (both CV joints, end-links, sway bar). All this is basic "maintenance" on the X5, and it has been done. I have 2 sets of rims with tires that are in great shape. I have installed a custom x-pipe and remus mufflers, which together sound incredible. Windows have a nice dark tint in the rear, and a light "legal" tint up front. I have Dice Silverline iPod integration kit. Also, I have painted all ground effects to paint match, which adds a great look. Since pics have been taken, I have installed the front skid plate, which adds a nice look to the front end. Please see below for the car's features.

Car "Factory" Features:
Air Conditioning
Single Compact Disc
Dual Power Seats
Power Steering
Dual Front Air Bags
Roof Rails
Power Windows
Front Side Air Bags
Stability Control
Power Door Locks
ABS (4-Wheel)
Hill Descent Control
Telescoping Wheel
Traction Control
Cold Weather Pkg
AM/FM Stereo
Leather
Premium Sound
Moon Roof
Xenon Headlamps
Integrated Phone
Privacy Glass
Parking Sensors
Oversize Wheels 20"+

It is a great vehicle and well maintained, ready to run to 200K, unfortunately not by me.

I'm trying to get $17k (neg) for it. Let me know if anyone knows anyone who may be interested. She is started off in the modding process, and it will be a fun project to finish.

Thanks.

I did decide to sell, I have to find something that will better suit my mileage needs. I'll be traveling across New England selling my outerwear, so I'll be needing something that will be more economical. I'll sure miss the beastly V8, especially her growl. I'll be taking another look at the Audi A3, 3 series wagon, A4 wagon for the turbo, maybe an X3, and if my budget allows it an E70 diesel (fingers crossed for this one).

Such a hard decision to make since I'm so in love with this X, and I've put so much effort into her so far.

Thanks for the compliment Moth! Much appreciated. ;)

Goodluck with the sale, and I hope you find a new car that you'll fall in love with

KBB.com says $17,500 for excellent condition, $16,500 for good. I figure I'll start my price in between. The car is running great, I took care of alot of common issues we all run into with our E53s, so its safe to say that she is very mechanically sound and then some. The body looks great, I detailed her a couple weeks ago, very minimal amount of scuffs/scratches. I would take 15K but without the second set of wheels and I wont bother to replace the oil separator and hoses or valve cover gaskets this Monday, and I would take the Dice and sell it elsewhere.

i think you could make more $$ if you sell the wheels and some of the 'extras' seperately..

We'll have to wait and see how the ball rolls and what kind of offers come in.

Hi RP,
Firstly good luck with your sale, nice looking X.

You mentioned in your post that you just fitted a front skid plate. As I have a topaz blue as well I'm keen to see a low, front on shot or 2 of the new plate. I intend on fitting one sometime soon and am interested in just how it would look. Thanks

Hey thanks! I love the look of the skid plate, it really adds the extra dimension our front ends really need. Its a nice alternative if you're not trying to replicate the 4.6. I'm traveling until Saturday and can take more pictures when I get back, but let me know of these two pictures give you a good idea. I no longer have the DEPO headlights installed as the didn't work properly.

Hi RP,
Thanks for the pics, much appreciated.

I'm thinking now after looking at it I won't do an all over lower trim paint job. It appears that your new skid plate dissappears (kind of) into the rest of the car and loses the impact that would otherwise be there. Your call on "it really adds the extra dimension our front ends really need" rings true, but only if it stands out (as it is intended to).

I did a couple of rough photoshops just to see how it would look on mine and think I will go with colour coding it rather than painting it silver like most guys are doing.

Again, good luck with your sale

Very cool photoshopping, I would def. do the color match.

On mine, the pictures don't do it justice, but when up close and personal, it looks very cool.

mtX5 06-28-2009 09:30 PM

i would do the color match as well. is your bull guard black?

m5james 06-30-2009 01:51 PM

Too bad you listed this about a month and a half too late...I love that blue.

Coming from the guy who writes like he failed ELEMENTARY school. Wouldn't that be "You're such a bitch, dude. Seriously." I usually don't quote people if i'm replying directly after their post, but for you, your special. I don't want you fixing your grammar errors w/o seeing what it was before. Go get your GED and quit ruining this thread.

I know, i'm bored. I'm transferring files from my garage computer to a portable harddrive so I can watch Surrogates during dinner, so i'm killing time by answering emails/threads.

This is actually just a conspiracy to help get RP's X sold via more exposure to this thread. Shhh...play along.

PS - Why is it that I place two spaces after a period (pay attention to that BMWX54.4, it's common sense to most of us), that it only shows one on the posting?

RPX5 10-01-2009 12:24 AM

WOW what did I miss here!!! My premier membership ran out and I wasn' t able to post a response to the wheel question, but after this soap opera played out I just had to rush and renew so I can post in this classified again!

What display of profanity and... uh... offensiveness!

First question: BMWX54.4, I do not have spacers, but the wheels do sit pretty wide since the offset is custom.

Second question: m5james, any form of oral sex with another man (catching or pitching) is still in fact gay. :bustingup

okay.. proceed!
