Upgrade version from Cobra Transmission, is approx 1" longer in the splines than the OE one to prevent slip. The pictures are from Cobra's website. MSRP is $569.99 on their site. could this be causing my shuddering/vibration issues under acceleration while going up a hill or at a constant speed?

Doubt it. Have you had time to get a proper diagnostic?

My reason for purchasing it to begin with was a clicking sound coming from the transfercase and it happened to be the shaft slipping inside the TC sprocket.

Just curious, why did you decide to go OEM?

I'm having mine checked out on Thurs, getting the click sound when going into drive or reverse.

Being that this one is about 1" longer, once you add the center flange and flex disk it makes it harder to insert into the TC sprocket because there's not as much room to play. So you either have to take down/move the TC in order to gain more wiggle room. I didn't want to go through all that and didn't wanted to pay an indie who was quoting me 4-6 hrs labor.

Damn dude, not trying to scare you but unless you got a new female sprocket and you relocated the a/c hose it's only a matter of time before that shaft fails on you. but you prob. know that allready. the T/C is not that difficult to drop. as a matter of fact you dont have to drop the T/C, just back out the bolts connecting it to the Tranny and losten the T/C support bolts. Find something to securely hold up the TC.
and wiggle the tc out from the tranny shaft enough to slip in the front shaft. you might have to disconnect the rear shaft just make sure you mark everything with white out. it worked for me but you will have to do this at your own risk because if you do it wrong you could put the rear shaft out of balance.
On the other hand how is your TC case sprocket chain? is it loose?

Didn't look at the female sprocket, and don't know about the chain. I will cross that bridge on those two components when I get there. I will look into moving the A/C drain hose sometime in the spring. Since the shaft replace, I don't hear the slip clicking sound.

Ok, good luck..but here's something to help put things in perspective... I thought that clicking noise was the rubber u-joints that connect the drive shaft to the front diff.. I was wrong, and found out the hard way what it really was.
