Hi, Gang. My AW 3.0i is back to stock, leaving me with all the pricey OEM mods I did. I have the following: OEM 4.8is Front Bumper (AW); Non-PDC, smoothed headlight squirters, smoothed fog lamps OEM Euro Front Fender Flares; fit only in conjunction with running boards SOLD OEM Running Boards; Painted OEM satin black OEM 4.8is Rear Fender Flares; fit only in conjunction with running boards SOLD OEM Rear Bumper (AW); Non-PDC OEM 4.8is Rear Bumper Side Sills/Flares (actual 4.8is flares NOT SE flares) SOLD OEM 4.8is Rear Bumper Diffuser (AW) SOLD OEM Facelift Euro Clear Head Lamps; With 8-Mil Clear Bra. SOLD OEM Euro Light Switch (with button for rear fog lamps; BRAND NEW in box - never installed) OEM Black Floor Mats (BRAND NEW in unopened packaging) SOLD Eisenmann Sport Exhaust (Quad-Tip; Fits All E53; Effectively brand new - 30 highway miles) SOLD All parts are either BRAND NEW or effectively BRAND NEW (they have less than 30 highway miles on them). Hope all is well. Is the running board kit available to be used without fender flares (I see those are sold)? I know the standard running board kit is made to be used without fender flares, and I'm hoping that would work. I don't run the rear or front flares on my 3.0. PM me what you want for the boards, as well as the 4.8 rear diffuser to get rid of them. |

The rear fender flares are sold but I still have the front ones. There is only one running board kit and it will work with either flared or non-flared wheel arches. The problem is that there are two types of flared and non-flared wheel arches - one works with the running boards, the other doesn't. The difference between the running board and non-running board flares is in the design at the rocker - that is, the ones that work in conjunction with the flares are wider at the rocker to accomodate the flares. Ricardo refresh my memory but are the wheel arches for the running boards modified (notched) to accomodate the fender flares?
I was looking for a setup that was not modified as I do not wish to fit the flares on my X5, and also was looking for them not to be painted black but I figured I'd ask. I feel like I may have asked you about this last year but I don't recall on the boards. |

Yes, the wheel arches are notches to accommodate the fender flares. However, the notches arches are not the ones that came on the car. The notches arches and flares come together as an assembly from the factory. As for the running boards, yes, they are painted OEM satin black. PS: Sale pending on exhaust and rear diffuser. |

If I wanted to strip the paint off the boards what would I need to do? EDIT: Nevermind the wheel arches are $108 apiece, just buying 2 of those would set me back $216 and I assume you aren't selling the rest of the running board set for $250? As I'll need to strip the paint get new rubber foot pieces, and all the blind rivets and clips as I'm fairly certain they aren't reusable. New set from the dealer is $700, unpainted which is what I want, let me know and thanks! |

Rear Diffuser Sold Hello, Ricky. Are you sure the OEM front SE flares are that cheap? Are you sure you aren't looking at the OEM non-flared front arches? When I purchased my flared front arches just over a year ago I paid over $400 for the pair. As to your question regarding the running boards - yes, they are $700...BUT, that is the price for ONLY the boards. You then need to buy the plugs (I think there are 114 of them), trim pieces that go above the boards, and the under-body plastics (i.e. rockers) that bolt beneath the boards and to the chassis. Put that stuff together and you're at $1,500. Finally, yes, you can strip the paint. Please PM me - I may be able to work out a deal with you but just so you know I'm in the process of negotiating with someone local... |

The running board kit BY ITSELF does not cost anywhere near $1,500. Just making sure we are on the same page, regardless, you have a kit which is heavily modded for rear/front arches to be fitted in conjunction, like I said, I could offer you $200 for the kit you have but I would need to get the non-fender flare specific pieces to fit to my car. Power folding mirrors or at least the power window switch that has the power folding button? I recently got cabinets in the garage that have tightened things up enough so that I'm tired of getting out every time to make sure I clear on the passenger side :D
