E53 Depot Projector Fogs + HID Installed

3 Attachment(s)
I'm selling my 4.8is so I've turned her back to stock trim. As part of the upgrades I bought Depo projectors with an HID kit for my foglights that I had on the X5 for 2 years.

These things are amazing! You could, without question, use these for your only night time light source and see perfectly. They match the factory lights well and have had ZERO issues.

If you've done any research you already know how hard it is to get a set of the Depo Projectors and I'm selling this set with HID already installed. These are completely plug and play. It takes a total of 10 minutes to remove your old fogs and install these using the existing factory plugs with ZERO retrofit.

Asking $150 OBO plus shipping via UPS.

The Depo Projectors alone cost $275 and the HID's were another $125

PM with any questions.

THANK YOU!

Best of luck with your sale, I know I really enjoy my projector fogs with HID on my X.

brand of H.I.D. and wattage? The projectors will fit on facelift X's?

Just read op again, pm'd you.

Are these guaranteed to be error free? looks like a standard HID kit with the load resistor. I did the same setup and I had the SUSP INACTIVE error whenever I switched on the fogs

Pm's replied to.

Yes, they are guaranteed to be error free. The kit is from the same company that the HIDs in my bike are from (DDM Tuning). I've never had a single issue out of either set going on 5 years, but IF there is any issue I'll more than happily take them back.

All that aside I have no idea how in the heck the fogs would give you a SUSP Level Inact error???? That's weird. Even if the ballasts were screwed up and drawing a massively large load (enough to cause electrical faults) I would think that you would receive more than just one fault in the system. Particularly the Self Leveling since it has nothing whatsoever to do with the fog lamps. At the same time though, it would almost make sense seeing as how BMW engineered the electrics on these things.

You need the error cancellers DDM sells, or any other vendor on ebay to plug these in line with the stock harness. The error cancellers keep from seeing errors on the dash and regulate the voltage so that your LCM isn't freaking out with the startup voltage of the ballasts.

The projector fogs do fit on the facelift, if you see the black connector that is an H11 adapter which will plug into your stock harness. The actual bulbs in the Depo projectors are H3, however.

Not sure if these are 35w or 55w ballasts, however if they are 55w ballasts I HIGHLY recommend adding a relay harness + error cancellers because that is a pretty big draw on the electrical circuit.

Mr. "If you ain't first, you're last" (Ricky Bobby) is 100% correct. The actual bulbs in the DEPO's are H3s.

The ballasts are 35W. I got the lower of the two specifically to prevent causing any fault codes with them.

With 55W ballasts you DEF need the extra hardware.
