Parting out 2011 X5 3.5D turbo diesel 20 k miles
 

As the title says I am parting out 2011 X535D with 20 k miles.I have bought the car last year from Long Island,it was flooded by the hurricane Sandy.I was hoping it could be restored,but the water went too high,all the way below the instrument cluster.I have used the front end parts already,but almost everything else is available.Excellent body with no damage whatsoever.

Almost nothing from the front is available.

i found a set of used power struts for the trunk lid opener on RR on ebay for $59, for a testing of a theory...

but saw that this specimen had power trunk opener - i wonder how much for the set, to try out the theory of power trunk on E53... i'd rather support a member here...

^^^Thank you for the support.Power gate is really a nice option.I just bought '12 X5 50i hit on the back so all the rear parts are spoken for.Somehow someone managed to break the electric struts on the 50i,so I will need the good ones.In case you need 1 or 2 bent struts for a mocking purpose they are yours for whatever the shipping costs.

this is a test project, to see if this thing is possible at all.. i will go for the RR struts on ebay then, which are made in Germany... wonder if those two are identical between RR and BMW... hmmm...

out of curiosity - any idea how much rear hatch weighs on the E70? if you are swapping them, you might have an idea - one man can lift it, 2-man job, or you need a forklift (i doubt that)... just to figure out the force needed to lift the hatch on E53...

I am pretty sure I can put them in a USPS FR box for ~$11.

The hatch without the glass must be in the 50 lbs range,prolly around 80 with the glass.I can lift it,but installing is a not a one man job.I am sure it is heavier than the E53 hatch.

Most '11 come with the regular lights like yours.The LED "angel eyes" could be retrofit to the 07-11 models,but it takes some parts and modifications.

I have the roof rails and the passenger side running board with the reinforcement inside.They are long pieces and good match for shipping together.

Kirk, I SMSed the number in the original post about the rear hatch.

I am in the market for a pair of multi-contour seats (aka comfort seats), black Nevada, NOT CLIMATISED, preferably 2011 and up.

I have factory sport seats in my 2011 50i, and believe that I should be able "plug and play" a pair of comfort seats, as long as the seats have the yellow connector and wiring harness intact. I may have to do some programming, because of the additional functionality in the seat. Also have to make sure that the seat belt tensioner with the explosive cartridge is intact (p/n 72117295964) and seat frame is not twisted.

Can you help? Or can you steer me in a direction where I can find such seats? Yards around here (mid Atlantic) simply don't list them, but they show cars with the seats in them ... Do you know if such a swap is possible?

I find very hard or impossible at all to communicate with salvage yards if you are looking for something else than a headlight or hood.If are there phisycally it is different,but phone or email is a nightmare.
I cant help you where you can locate such a seats,you need to search.I was thinking to try to fit the multicontour seats from my 06 530xit to the X5,but didnt even have time to check if they are similar.But X5 seats should be plug and play becasue the seat modules are part of the seat.The seatbelt pre-tensioner you can replace,it is held by one bolt.

Do you still have the vent visors on the doors? How are they installed? How much for the set?

How much for the headlight switch nob?

Is that interior trim Bamboo? Is it in good shape or waterlogged? How much for the complete set if still good. Mine have cracks and I would like to replace them.

And for S&G's, how much for the motor and tranny?
