New Headlights that can be opened
 

I need a pair of new Xenon Headlights (amber, white) that can be opened for Angel Eye installation, should be without scratches. Any ideas where I can get them? Pls help...

ebay, just pm the seller first to get the time stamp on the light. Looks like a clock on the top and back of the headlight.

I know about this "time stamp on the light"...as far as I remember should be before 2002...but unfortunatelly whatever I find is much newer than required...

PM toohotdoc, he got his 2003 headlights open with a special spray.

Unfortunately he (toohotdoc) has got no idea what the spray it was, see his response - "i had this mechanic open the lights up with a silicon spray, not sure what brand or company because i didnt ask him, which i should have. I know he had to order it in, so its not comin, but its a spray and he told me even with that, it was still a bitch to get it open."

Means - I STILL NEED THE HEADLIGHTS THAT CAN BE OPENED (manf till 2002).

up to 10/02 I believe, I know mine were both made in 2002 but before 10/02

One of your pre 10/02 didn't open, correct?

I called a bunch of scrap yards in the US until I found the best price, I paid $300 for each side and each assembly looked brand new. I cannot for the life of me remember where I got them. Just do a search for salvage, euro, bmw, etc. parts on the net and you will find tons of places.

it wasnt a pre 10/02. one of my headlights had been replaced due to condensation build up. the time stamp on the back of the light was newer than 10/02 but I just looked at the time stamp on the weather strip (that you take off before you bake) it was original and had a pre 10/02 build. and I found all this out after I already had one light cleared out. Knowing that I needed to buy a new light, I cut out the bottom of my headlight with a dremal, removed the baffals, and then did a patch job with the plastic and some epoxy. I found a used headlight on ebay about 2 weeks later and picked it up for about $80 + shipping (not bad for a xenon with clear corner)

still lookin for...give me a shout if anybody knows the source...
