FS: Avin Avant 2 E53 X5 / E39 5 Series

Hey Everyone!

Putting my E53 X5 / E39 5 Series Avin Avant 2 Head unit up for sale. I used the Unit for a little less than a year. Purchased in June of 2016, was removed from car in March of 2017. Unit is in mint condition with little to no wear on the buttons / knobs. Every Function worked flawlessly, but decided to go back to stock radio because I was under-utilizing everything the unit had to offer. External mic that I purchased separately off of the AVIN site for use with the unit will be included (mounted it to the top of the A-pillar for use).

The unit is not compatible with DSP equipped vehicles to my knowledge. More information can be found on the AVIN website. Price is OBO, shipping to lower 48 states is included.

Price: $300 shipped

I see you went back to the factory unit - was this a challenge since you had to cut the original dash bracket to get the Avin unit to fit?

With plastic specific epoxy and epoxying on plastic support pieces bridging the areas that were cut, I was able to make the bracket really sturdy. I had to remove the dash to be able to efficiently get at the radio bracket though.

Do these droid headunit plug directly into the stock harness and just work?
I've never used one.

Quick answer is No. However whether or not your ride come equipped with an onboard monitor would decide how much work would go into Mods. New harness will definitely be required for ride with existing on-board monitor to connect wiring with the radio module in the trunk area.
