They have taken a beating recently due to the new body style at the end of the year...26500 to 27000 for those miles is more likely...

The KBB, NADA, and Edmunds are a little off. Galves is the only book you cannot see which is even lower...these things are rolling through the NE German Auction in Framingham Ma in the high teens....

just some advise...I took beating myself.

Roc is right ... for an 02 4.4 with 66K miles, granted no paintwork, you should be happy to get mid to high 20's. If memory serves me correct, galves (which is what most dealers use to appraise trade-ins) states an 02 should have around 40K miles. The beginning trade in value should be somewhere in the mid to upper 20's, so let's say, for example, it's 27,500. You're going to be hit with a $325 per thousand mile overage surchage. $325 x 26 = $8450. Deduct that from the 27,500, and you're under 20K. Add for sport $800, $900 for navigation, $500 for DSP if you have it, and $500 for cold weather package. There are no adds for Xenon, PDC, etc. So...$27,500 - $8450 =$19,050 + $1,700 = $20,750. Now I see you have listed premium sound, so that kicks it up to $21,250. Now this is assuming all original paintwork.

Now before I get flame for this post, I realize you're talking retail value. There's an ass for every seat. You might find somebody who's willing to pay the price you want for your vehicle, especially one with the level of equipment your vehicle has.

Best of luck with your sale!

One should never get flamed for speaking the truth P.

Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay you. I know what the online pubs say, we all can look them up, as my old sales manager used to say..."is that book going to write you a check?" I am telling you what I heard from a dealers mouth to my horrified ears and what I saw in print for my own eyes what X5's got at auction the second week of Dec 05 @ the Framingham Ma Import Auction house. If you love your Sav then keep it. If you have a warranty then you have no worries keep it. I tell you this...if I had a CPO I would still have my old X5. You asked our opinions and we ponied up. Sometimes the truth leaves a bruise, but we mean no ill will. You have a nice rig, but I know your thinking...ok...let me get out when some miles left on the CPO and flip to a new one when the new body is unveiled....unfortunately....every other X5 owner is mulling the same thoughts. Best of luck...it is very sharp!
