Aluminum Running Boards

My neighbor across the street just purchased a set of the BMW OEM aluminum running boards for his 2005 X5. He decided he did not like them after installing them. They have been on the car less than 24 hours before we removed them. They are still in brand new condition. He will purchase a new set of plastic rivits and other installation hardware so you will get everything. He is asking $500.00 and will ship anywhere in the continental U.S. for free.

Let me know if anyone wants these.

wait a minute....

These are just like the ones that you have right? Did not mean to jump the gun. Literally 24 hours?

You need to purchase plastic rivets+plugs from Bmw to install the Alu boards.
These break upon removal and do not come with the uninstalled Alu boardsyou are getting!I have done the install, any questions, feel free to ask.....Fernando

Tools to install.

To DYs install you will need a t55 torx bit socket. Not sold in stores...have to get through like a snap on tools or try google.

These will come with everything you need to install. We pulled them off his X5 and purchasing a new set of rivets and mounting hardware. You will not have to purchase anything else from BMW.

It comes with:

2 aluminum running boards
2 front fender trim replacements
2 rear fender trim replacements
2 trim pieces to cover the bolts on top
2 trim pieces to cover the bottom of the boards
all mounting hardware

As far as tools go...You need:

Plastic Rivet Gun from NAPA
Something like a hole punch to revmove the existing rivits
13mm socket with extension
pliers to remove the old riviets after you punch the pins out

It takes me about an hour to do both sides.

And no...I am not taking them off my X5...I purchased 2 sets...one for me and one for my buddy across the street. He did not like them on his X5...We pulled them off less than a day after being installed. Two pieces of the trim were scratched during shipment...these have been ordered and I expect to recieve the new ones by Wednesday or Thursday.

This a picture of my X5 with the running boards installed.
