OEM Reversing Camera Kit for E53 X5

EDIT: ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD!!

==============================

I have for sale the X5 specific parts from BMW Reversing Camera Retrofit Kit 66 21 0 303 079 (list price $720). According to the Electronic
Parts Catalog this kit is compatible with vehicles produced after 09/1999.

The color camera outputs standard NTSC signal and can be used with any monitor having a NTSC Video input.
If you would like to send the signal to the BMW Navigation display there are 3 options; an aftermarket video input device (for example the
Dietz Interface 1260), the OEM TV Video Module or the OEM Video Switchbox. Personally I like the OEM Switchbox as it has 4 video inputs (1
for rear camera, 3 for other video sources).

Here's the link to the Dietz nterface:
ikel.hersteller=0000000000&artikel.katalog=2411000 000)

Included are the following genuine BMW parts:
1 Retrofit wire harnesses
1 Relay
1 Color camera
2 mounting screws
3 mini wire splices
8 medium zip ties
1 long zip tie (this is the one non-OEM part)
1 protective covering

I have also printed out the latest BMW Retrofit Guide which covers installing this camera on vehicles with 2 situations; the OEM TV Video
Module or the OEM Video Switchbox.
I can e-mail a copy of the Camera owner's manual.

The parts were carefuly removed from a previous BMW installation (the wire harness shows a manufacture date in 2005) and work just fine.

Besides OEM quality, fit and finish, this BMW kit has 2 nice features; an 8 second delay from when you shift from reverse to keep the video
on the monitor briefly while moving forward and support for an external momentary switch which provides 30 seconds of camera picture while in any gear.
I have the same kit installed on my E38 and the camera does very well adjusting to different lighting conditions.

$400 + shipping

How difficult is the install? And where and how much does that OEM Switchbox cost/available?

According to BMW's instructions it should take 3 - 3.5 hours for the install assuming you have the TV Video Module. If you're adding the Video switchbox you add an extra hour.

I would allow more time than that... as most of use aren't "master techs". The most difficult part will be running the wire harness through the rubber tubbing that connects your top hatch to the car. A small container of electrical "pulling" lube is usefull here - it runs a couple bucks at Lowes or Home Depot.

The switchbox kit can be purchased from any BMW dealer. Last time I bought one it was $250 w/ my discount... but you are getting 4 video inputs for your Nav display!

Hi,

Do you know if this will fit in an 05 with the screen? Is it relatively plug and play for the wiring side?

Are you willing to ship to Australia?

Thanks

Yes, the camera is "plug and play" if you already have the TV Video Module or Switchbox. No vehicle coding is needed.
The retrofit instructions outline exactly what you need to do.

International shipping is fine with me.

The camera kit is still available.

I did find the original owners manual, and it will also be included (although it is very basic, just thick due to multiple languages)

Do you have the part number for the OEM Switch Box? I want to call in the morning and get a quote from my local dealer, which happens to be Morristown
