FOR SALE: BMW X5 E53 Trunk lid Trim with backup Camera

You are looking at a Trunk lid Trim/release with a back up Camera for E53 X5. The Trim is a OEM part but I'm not 100% sure if the camera is an OEM BMW camera? My guess would be a YES because of the camera connection/connector. I believe the camera and the button for the trunk release is been modified to fit on this trunk lid. It functions fine to open the trunk by pressing the button and it was modified in a great way to look as if it came stock with this trim. I could be wrong and it may comes like that on X5's but I never seen it on a E53 model before. I tried the trunk release on my X5 and it works fine. I really don't know much about it to tell you more but that's how I bought it and that's how I'm selling it. I think it's a nice feature if you have an aftermarket DVD system for your X5 and by installing this trim it will make the camera look as it came stock on you X5. I'm selling it for $100. I bought it for $180 and never used it because I took waaay too much time deciding which DVD system I was gonna install on my X and never did install one lol. Please always ask for more pictures if you need to see more. Thanks

I assume it's never been tested to see if it even works then? Since I don't have backup sensors, I'm trying to find a camera that had the green, yellow and red reference lines.

I never tested it personally but I'm assuming that its tested and working because I bought from someone sells bmw parts. I couldn't tell you if it has those lines to guide you when backing up. I know its hard to buy something that you don't know much about but I bought it because I thought it is a nice feature to have on my X5. I will try one day to go to a stereo shop to see if I can get it tested also to find out if it has those lines and I'll let you know

I didn't think that a backup camera was an option on any E53, if that's true then most likely its not an OEM camera, which is probably better anyway. I would doubt if this camera has the reference lines in it as that is a newer technology and usually requires a module in addition to the camera. Can you take a closer picture of the connector and the back side of the whole piece? Did you say that it is not tested?

Looks like oem camera and yes E53's outside of the US had a front and backup camera as an option. Need a video switchbox module to get this integrated and working on the oem nav screen.

the e53 had two camera options, reverse, either with a switch as TQ said, or the TV module, and front, with a funky mirror/prism and funkier switch that looked totally out of place on the dash... the OE cameras looked ugly, and that camera does look like it OE - the complete OE reverse camera retrofit, with camera, cables, switch could run you an $800 back in time when E53 just hit the market...

i have a chinese camera with reference line - those lines are static, they don't move, they are ENGRAVED in picture - lowblock refers to the tracer lines that outline your INTENDED path, those do require special block...

i wonder what connector on the back look like...

Hi lowblock. Again I really wish if I could tell you much about this camera. Again... To me it looks like its an OEM. Wether its for an E53 or other model I really wouldn't know and don't wanna lie to you and say yes. PM me your email address and I'll take a closer picture of the connector or of whatever picture you want me to take. As for it been tested... I haven't tested myself but I'm assuming the person who sold it to me tested it because he was a big seller on eBay selling bmw parts when I bought it back then. Let me know if you need anything from me so I can help you with this item ok. Thanks
P.S I've seen the same camera been on a E70 X5 that looked exactly the same so it could be taking off of an E70 I'm not quiet sure
