Complete M62tu - New guides, PCV, Valves, etc
***This was removed from an 01 740iL. It will work in 00-03 4.4L X5s but I do not know what exactly needs to be swapped besides the oil pan*** My brother in law recently parted out his e38 because one thing after another kept breaking. Before anyone bashes the ad he is well aware of the mistake he made by not installing new lifters but the price reflects what the engine will need so save the criticism. This is an effort to write the ad as honestly as possible to avoid confusion later. Back story: His car had a bad front PCV valve from the day he bought it. A mixture of the valve being bad and the previous owner of the car neglecting it over all resulted in the heads (valves mostly) getting pretty fouled up from burning oil. He tossed around the idea of a used engine but decided to take on the task of pulling the heads, replacing all the valves, valve seals, head gaskets, etc and putting it back together. When he removed the heads he found the block to be damaged and ended up purchasing a lower mileage, better condition, block from a member here. His friend who replaced all the valves and did the heads for him opted to not replace lifters because they appeared to be fine (I argued to change them but the project was already way over budget so they didn't) What we ended up with was an engine with a strong block, refreshed heads, and WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE a tapping noise from one stupid lifter in the front of the passenger side head. What was replaced (with receipts for parts): - Every single Guide, tensioner, rail, timing chain, and seal associated with front guides (including crank, flange seals, front timing cover upper and lower, cam sensor orings, and anything else there) - Head Gaskets, Valve Seals, ALL intake valves, ALL exhaust valves, and head bolts - Rear Crank Seal - New OE PCV on the manifold, New cyclone PCV under timing chains, both PCV breather tubes under intake manifold - New Valley Pan, Water Pump, Thermostat, accumulator pipe seals, rear coolant cross pipe gaskets The car pulls like a freight train and the engine is solid we just don't feel like ripping it apart yet again to make it more quiet. I can include brand new lifters if the buyer is interested at additional cost. The engine is priced because of the noise - I wouldn't take a penny less then $2k (still would of been a good deal) if it ran a little more quiet. Price: $1250 picked up He is willing to deliver within 200 miles at an additional $150 https://youtu.be/Uf3QeOH7k2Y https://youtu.be/-wfUBpuKAKg
