Looking for Winter tires

If you have a set of used wheels and winter tires together, I'm interested. They can be any size as long as they will fit the X5.

My best lead so far is a set of OEM BMW 17" wheels with some Blizzaks for $550. So, I'm looking in that price range.

I have extra 20x9.5 rims but I figured finding reasonably priced 20" snows would be hard to find for them.

The 17s won't fit on your 4.8is!! I bought mine on eBay last year, you may get lucky there too

Uh oh .. seriously? These were on a 2000 X5 so pre-facelift but for an X5 not just any BMW. Is it because of the bigger rotors & calipers?

Dang it.

yup, the rims wont clear the bigger calipers/rotors..

I got extremely lucky to pick up some style 87s on ebay with pirelli I/S for around 850 last year. Keep your eye out for something like that, you may get lucky

Naz - Thanks for the warning!

I found another set but 18" and trying to find the wheel specs to compare offsets. The rear should be ok as I have spacers. Its the front I'm worried about.

Oh well, off to do more research. Thanks again.

I also have a set for sale. 17" e53 stock wheel and Michelin Pilot Alpine snow tires. Lots of thread (over 80%) left. I will upload pictures later. Located in SF bay area. Will be sold to the best offer since I sold my X5.

I have a set of 18's with 255/55 R18 Hankook Icebears on them with a little bit of tread left. The wheels have paint chipping/peeling off so I'm looking to sell the entire set for 200 picked up in Northern/Central NJ. They could be repainted or used as is.

The BMW recommended wheel for winter tyres on the 4.8is is the style 99 .
8x18 ET 40

You can use most or all E53 ,18 inch wheels although some say yes and some say no . One member had the front wheel spokes scuffing the calipers after fitting new pads .
The others available are 8.5x18 , ET48 .
