I just wanted to take a moment to let members know about my experience with BMW North Scottsdale in working with BMW North America to extend my warranty. I bought one of the first X5's, I placed the order thru BMW N. Scottsdale and all went well. The car came and with in 1 week it was back for CD/DVD player problems. I have since taken this car in on several occasions for this problem, which wasn't only local to the CD/DVD system but at one point caused a short circuit that caused the car to be undrivable. The service manager Doug took my request to simply extend the warranty around the CD/DVD system and worked to get my entire car covered by a platinum level (bumper to bumper) extended warranty for 72mo and 100,000 miles. The cost of this warranty is just south of $3500, and I have a similar one on my E320 CDI so I know it's not cheap. But they worked with BMW N. America to get me covered at no cost to me.

Bravo! I have to admit, that exceeds my expectations and I cannot recommend them strongly enough as a result.

Thats wonderful to hear you have had such great experience with BMW North Scottsdale. I have had some not so stellar experiences there and it is refreshing to hear the positives!! I live in north central phoenix and have my work done at chapman on camelback. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with them.

It's all a matter of timing and personalities I guess.. I never talked to Chapman after the classic "Bait and Switch" job they did on me when I was looking for an X5.. I asked the guy on the phone in no uncertain terms if they had such and such, and went into detail and he told me.. we've got two like that. I dragged the wife down that afternoon and amazingly both were gone! That's when I called N Scottsdale and went in.. I ended up having to place the order for the options I wanted as they were rarely shipped to the dealer if ever... go figure.

Anyway.. I wasn't always happy with N Scottsdale's dealings, but this new Service Manager seems to be customer focused.

Well said. It is highly dependent on who you work with. I have encountered a few salesmen at the camelback store that kinda seemed like typical salesmen. The type you wouldn't expect at a BMW dealership.

Thats good to hear there is a service manager who cares for the customer. It has taken a few years of working with different service advisors but i have found 2 guys at chapman who take real good care of me and I am friends with the parts guy (brother was in boyscouts with him a long time ago haha). I hoping for rain in the next few days!!! We didnt have much of a monsoon season.

I also give BMW North Scottsdale 5 stars, never had a bad experience with them. I've bought 3 BMWs from there including my former 2003 X5 which was pre-ordered in 2002. I also serviced each vehicle there during the warranty period. Once out of warranty, I instead take them to a great independent mechanic that is much much closer to my house.
