Dealer Service Recommendation for Idaho/Utah?
In a couple of weeks I will be taking a long trip west to the Idaho area in my 2010 X5 35d. According to the idrive, it is likely I will reach the mileage for an oil change and DEF flush/fill around the time I an in Idaho/Utah.
I would appreciate some info and/or recommendation: (1) Does anyone know the BMW policy on their free maintenance mileage? e.g., if the idrive says I need an oil change and DEF flush fill at 11,500 miles, how early can I bring it in and get the free maintenance and/or how late can I bring it in without incurring warranty issues? Will they do it at 11,000 miles if I'm near a dealer? If I bring it in at 12,000 miles, will there be a warranty issue? At 10,500? How much leeway does BMW give for the service when one is traveling? When traveling I have, on occasion, put in 750-800 mile days, so timing the service is a bit of a PIA, particularly in this area of the country if BMW has a small window for the service. (2) Since there appears to be only three dealers in the area, Boise, Idaho Falls, and Salt Lake City, does anyone have a recommendation for one dealer over another? Has anyone had a DEF service at any of these dealers? I'd hate to be the first DEF flush/fill that their service department has ever done. Thanks for any advice or recommendations! |
