Black Trim around Windows
How do I clean these? When I got the car they were faded and full of water spots.
I used back to black and it fixed the fading problem but the water spots are still there. I then read the forums and I used Zymbol Cleaner Wax. I used it twice but it did nothing. It made it faded again so I added back to black again. Any suggestions? |
someone suggested I use..
Isopropyl alcohol should I? I dont want to damage anything. |
Do you have rubber? Or the glossy shadowline trim?
|
I use Meguiar's quick wax spray.
It's fast and works perfectly. Available at any auto parts store. |
just wax them. they're clear coated.

ok alcohol did not work
does this mean the damage is too deep to fix? |
Sorry, I can't answer your question, but here's an X5world article dealing with this issue, and here's an earlier X5world thread on point.
BMW issued a Service Bulletin to address this issue -- more info. here. x5Monkey recommends Car Brite Power Pak. :goodluck: |
3m swirl mark remover works wonders. I used this product last week and I am totally satisfied with the results.

where do I buy car brite power pak?
I used#9 by Meguiars. It removed 50% of the spots. I had to really really buff it hard with my hand. My hand felt like it was about to fall off. I did it 3-4 times but the other 50% just doesnt want to come off. Should I buy the 3m smirl mark remover? I am tired of spending money on products to fix this problem. |
