Zaino Clay
 

I used the clay bar this weekend and I was quite impressed with the results. The paint soooo smooth now. It was pretty easy to use and didn't take long at all. Just make sure that you have at least two bars because you are almost guaranteed to drop it (and then you habe to throw it away) when you get the lubricant all over you hands(I used Zaino carwash soap). I put 3 coats of Z5 on it and will follow up with 3 coats of Z2 next weekend.

Haha, been there, done that! If it rolled around a bit on the ground you def. have to chuck it. Mine was in a ball, landed and stuck so I pinched off the flat side of the ball that hit the ground.

I'm amazed by how much crap the clay pulled off of the lower sections of the paint!

i couldn't tell a difference between the results of zaino clay and claymagic so i switched to the cheaper and much easier to get claymagic from autozone for about 10 bucks which includes 1 stick of blue clay and 1 spray lubricant bottle...

Save even more...,
Do not use the whole bar at one time.
Cut the bar into multiple pieces as only a thin layer touches the paint when claying, so you do not need a big clump of clay to work with.

I usually cut my bar into 8 - 10 pieces.

Also you may be interested to know we have purchased a buyout from a large distributor and are selling double size bars for 50% off regular price.

At 1/2 off nd cutting into 8-10 pieces, this would be enough to last a couple of years on one car.

Also, if the clay drops that you are using, you will have 7 - 9 more pieces to use.

I just picked one of those Mothers California Gold detailing kits for my 740il which includes a 80 gram clay bar, 16 oz. bottle of showtime instant detailer, and a 4 oz. bottle of carnauba wax for like $14 @ AutoZone. Can't go wrong getting all that for the price. Results are freak'n awesome. Put it like this, I don't even want to take the car out of the garage cuz I don't want it to get dirty:mad: Looks as good as showroom and smells like honey N wildflowers:)

The X will get her treatment this weekend:thumbup:

I agree with chopping the bar into sveral bits before using it. Just make sure to keep an eye on how contaminated the clay is becoming as you go along. When the bar becomes fairly saturated then, from my understanding, you can start to do damage to the car. Kinda similar to using a window blade to dry a not 110% fully clean car.

Wish I had the time to clay my car.

Yup, young and single. Wouldn't mind something pretty hanging on the arm though. And the X seems rather good for attracting attention.
Personally, I also havn't got round to claying the car just lots of polish and sealant so far.

If you're worried about dropping a clay bar, try placing newpapers all around the ground around your car. Then, if you drop your bar, just pick it up & re-kneed it. It won't pick up dirt if you're careful with the newspapers.
