Cleaning hazed headlight lense?
 

The top part of my headlight lenses are starting to hazed up a bit (on the outside). Wiping it down with water seems to clear it up...until it dries again :( Anyone have any recommendation on getting rid of hazed covered headlight lense? Thanks.

Try buying and using the abrasive sold by one of the vendors here...it works pretty well. Is it Wayne's Towels who sells what I am thinking about?

Thank You for finding that! Although, mine aren't pitted that bad...so I might just try some polishing compound or even some cleaner wax on it first and see how it turns out. Sanding down the plastic headlight lenses make me extremely nervous.

Sounds like you have some oxidation on your covers. Try Meguiar's PlastX with a foam applicator. It might take a couple of applications to get it sparking clear but it will get the job done. It's available in most car parts stores.

Thanks guys for all the helpful recommendations. The Meguiar PlastX seems relatively simple enough to try. I'll see if I can find it in one of the local auto parts stores.

If you can't find it or are not happy with the results, let me know.
We use and recommend Novus..., it has 3 different levels of abrasives as well as a finishing high gloss polish.

Like wax, I do not recommend the "all in one" type Wal Mart products.
They are made to a "price point" and quality is what I am interested in:)

Second this. I used Novus on some badly hazy headlight covers on an Infiniti. It worked very well.

BTW, I'm loving my Wayne's waffle drying towel. :thumbup:

I bought the Novus three-part product. I have not gotten to old lens to look quite like the brand new one I had installed but with each application it gets better. And after the first treatmant it was drastically improved. The stuff works for lots of other things as well--boat windshields, motorcycle helmets, etc.
