New Camera and Clean X5

I purchased a new camera from a forum member on Autopia. really good deal and really good camera. Its a Canon Power Shot S2iS. I was using a polarizing filter in the shots. The car got a quick wash and QD since it still looking good from its Menzerna and Duragloss detail...

Very nice. Black always looks nice when it's clean and shiny.

You can get a polarizing filter for a Power Shot?

Joyriide1113 09-18-2006 10:38 AM

For the S2iS you can. You just have to buy the lense adapter. Thankfully when I bought the camera, the sender sent it with the camera.

Fine look X and very interesting look with the polarizer; I especially
like that interior shot with the exc depth of feel and "different"
look. Good stuff!

Ajogu, not speaking for joyride, but it looks like a transmitter module we use here in many of the states: called "EZPass", which is a subscription to a multi-state transportation authority.

We use that windshield mounted gizmo to travel through the numerous toll booths on many of the toll roads. It provides for "driving through" the toll, as opposed to stopping and paying; our tolls are noted electronically and deleted from an account.

What are you using on the tyres?

I use Megs Endurance gloss but can't get them that shiny

Yep. Just like motordavid said, its a module used to drive through tolls instead of stopping and paying. Of course here in FL we call in Sunpass, not E-Z Pass. lol

Joy.

I literally have dozens of tire dressings. Botique, professional grade, and OTC. The one currently on the tire is Meguiars Hot Shine Spray (OTC). I like the look, I do not like the sling. Only way to avoid the sling is to buff the tire after application, but of course this loses a lot of the shine. The tire was not buffed for picture purposes. I later buffed the tire completely with a terry towel.

Did you dress the dash with something?

Yes. With Vinylx.

A few months ago I cleaned the dash with Woolite:water mix followed by some 303 Aerospace. Been maintaining it since with Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer. I needed something low shine along with cleaning abilities so I grabbed the Vinylx... Looks real nice and matt.

As for the rest of the interior, its wearing BMW's Leather care cleaner & conditioner (re-labeled meguiars).

I used to use the Vinylex on my Porche and thought it was too glossy.
I'll test an area again. What glass cleaner do you use?

Very nice!

Mine is black too. I shuddah opted for the 4.8S! It's worth the extra $$$.

ljnlaw 09-20-2006 07:13 PM

Very nice 4.8, I agree that black is the best color when clean!

I was using a MF applicator with maybe 2-3 spritz for have the dash.

I really like NXT glass cleaner (very slippery) and does not leave streaks when usings 1-2 sprays per window... My biggest helper of all when it comes to cleaning any windshield from the inside is

The outside windows just get a hit of QD after the wash..

Yes it is. But I wish, and think about it everytime, how much I would've loved Le Mans Bleu or Titanium Silver. Silver when well detailed can be just as noticable as black and the Le Mans Bleu is pure sex.

Ont op of all that, you can notice the 4.8is bodykit more when a different color than the trim...I can spot a 4.8is a mile away if its color is anything other than black.

Looks nice !! Where do you buy your menzerna products? I've been using Zymol and keep hearing good things about menzerna so I'd like to try their polishes.

The menzerna polishes have become exclusively available at www.properautocare.com The menzerna polishes are a little expensive, especially the ceramic polishes, but I would buy the " blackfire" brand if I were you. Its the exact same polish with the same amount of abrasives, except with more lubricating oils, making it a lot easier to buff paint using a polisher, especially with a rotory polisher like what I use. Best part is they don;t use filling oils.

Cool thanks, I'll check it out. Looks like they are having a 10% discount going on now, which makes it even better.
