I'll vouch for Zaino, and so will many more people on this forum.

Cat, I'm with SG...do you have chrome or "black chrome" tips?

If chrome, any chrome polish in the auto parts store will do fine,
imo. Meguiars, Mother's, et al. This isn't a concours d'elegance
test, :) . Wipe off gently, with damp cotton rag, apply polish or
even a basic wax, let dry and buff gently with clean towel.

I realize this is the Detail Forum and I'm sure there are a dozen
opins, but it's a freaking tail pipe on a daily driver.

GL, Cat...

I'm with Big JV...in 45+ years of "waxing" vehicles, there is nothing
like Zaino, imo.

I dont use a specific group of products acutally all of my choices are the best I have found for a given product to do a specific job I will break down my favorites

Cleaners

Prevettes multipurpose cleaner

Zep Green cleaner degreaser (works on everything from carpets to engines this shit is amazing)

Leather
Meguiars gold class moisturizer with aloe

havent found a favorite leather prep yet still looking

Detailer
Prevettes Quick Detailer (no wax or other shine additives to react with my wax)

Groits or Prevettes cleaning clay with Prevette's cleaning clay lubricant

Wheel tire detailing

Meguiars Quick detailer does the best job of getting brake dust off of coated wheels

Griots Garage wheel cleaner (BBS and Dayton approved)

Shining Monkey no streak tire shine (detailing at car shows)

Meguiars Endurance Tire shine (regular and high gloss lasts for three or so weeks and doesnt attract dust like silicone based shines do)

Mothers Mag/aluminum polish for uncoated wheels

Zoops seal for uncoated wheels

Meguiars wheel wax for coated wheels

Polishes

Prevette's wax prep lotion

3M imperial series buffing compounds

Groits fine hand polish

Prevette's glass and chrome polish

Wax
depending on the vehicle and how often it is driven I use a few different waxes

Autoglym (although a little tough to track down)

Groits Best of Show wax (the single most used wax on the concorse show circut)

Meguiars gold class on the daily drivers

I also use Groits garage Bug Off over the wax on the front of the cars that get a lot of road miles stuff works wonders

No Chrome, just the regular ones that come with the car, but they look too dark now. Maybe I should get new ones, here is a pic

You can't get new ones as what you have pictured there is part of the muffler . I'm assuming you don't have Sport package my looking at that..what you could do is get the Black Chrome tips that come with the Sport package. They just slip right on. Otherwise, use one of the products recommended above.

What color is the trim around your windows? How many spokes does you steering wheel have?

If it has Sport package: Black, 3

SilverBullet 12-11-2006 04:19 PM

I have chrome tail pipes that I bought from the dealer. :)

It is Non-sport. You can get the oem black tips from Morristown or Creview BMW for good prices.

Another option is to purchase the BMW OEM chrome exhaust tips which provide a nice contrast against the black rear valance. The sports package black tips are barely noticeable compared to the chrome tips, plus they're sort of generic.
