Scuff marks
Any tips on getting rid of scuff marks on the interior of an X5? I just had my windows tinted and noticed that whomever did it left some scuff marks on the inside of the tailgate (plastic part). I tried rubbing them off with my hand to see if that had any effect, but that did nothing. There's also the shoe scuff marks that idiot passengers leave on the lower inside of the door panels when exiting the vehicle. These I can usually wipe off, but not completely. Anyone know of any special cleaners that can get rid of these?

Try the detailing forum. Phil sells some stuff that does wonders on the doors!

Imo, any of your fave "back to black", vinyl/plastic dressing,
will work fine. I get my lift gate scratched/scuffed with some regularity, (not deep scratches, however), and a light wipe with your fave stuff should make it look brand new. GL,mD |

scuff marks can generally be wiped away with one pass with laquer thinner. Too much rubbing can melt what you are working on, but a quick wipe is fine. Do not use laquer thinner on leather though, only plastic...

Stick with dedicated cleaners for car interiors like 1Z or at most something like Adam's All-purpose cleaner. |
Move this thread over to the Detailing Forum. Phil will tell you exactly what to do!!
