Hey Phil what wax would you suggest as a good supplement to FMJ? Almost all higher end waxes will have a pre-wax cleaning step but i would think that would then remove the sealant. What should i do?

detailersdomain 08-26-2007 10:47 PM

Yes most of them do have the cleaner for bonding...what color is the X or the car you are doing?

myinfernalbmw 08-26-2007 10:49 PM

silver for my personal vehicle and i detail pretty much everything else as far as color goes. I would just think the cleaner would strip the sealant previously applied?

hey Phil... got a questing for you.. whats a good way to take swirls and light scratches off?? plus would it be wise to do this now before winter starts or wait after winter? thanks

Anytime is a good time to get swirls off. You just have to maintain the car and no let them come back.

Are you using a Porter Cable or just by hand?

flip_x 08-30-2007 09:26 PM

im gonna do this by hand... i know alot of work but its ok..

detailersdomain 09-01-2007 12:04 AM

yes but there is no way you will get the results you would get with a pc or machine...you will also put a ton of work in.

I would use a swirl remover with some fillers , no paint correction will happen by using your hand.
