Also, what can I use to take out the spots on the window from hard water?

You can use steel wool on the windows for hard water spots. There are also some glass polishes out there that you could try but the steel wool works like a charm.

The steel wool won't scratch up the windows? I have hard water here and everytime the sprinklers on the windows gets it.

That is the first thing i reach for when removing water spots from windows. I always spray down the window with plenty of glass cleaner first then scrub away and i've never had a problem with scratched glass. I only use ultra fine steel wool however so make sure its marked "ultra fine" or "000"
