Menzerna products

Can the menzerna products be applied with a regular 9" buffer or do you need to use the E2K pads?

detailersdomain 11-06-2007 12:34 AM

you can use any good clean pad with the Menzerna products.

So what would be a list of products you would recommend to use on my vehicles that have swirl mark and a couple light scratches, including a wax.

detailersdomain 11-07-2007 11:38 PM

Which machine are you using and the color of your car?

Dubz 11-08-2007 08:56 PM

Right now all that I have is a 9" Craftsman orbital buffer, but if that isn't good enough I am willing to purchase the PC polisher. The colors of my cars are black and blue.

You might want to upgrade to the PC with a Menzerna kit or something.

Let me know what you need and I can build something for you.

Do you need clay, car wash etc.

Dubz 11-08-2007 10:16 PM

If you recommend the PC I'll get it and I do have a clay bar but it is old and could use a new one. Is it possible to burn your paint with the PC polisher?

detailersdomain 11-08-2007 10:23 PM

I would definitely recommend the PC with the velcro backing plate, orange/white/black pad combo.

A new clay bar if you feel that your old one is beat up.

The PC will not burn your paint.

Some Menzerna Polishes, this is a great starter kit.

Can you maybe tell me what condition your paint for the 2 cars are?

My Lexus (blue) has light swirl marks and some spots have over spray from recent body work. My BMW (black) has very noticeable swirl marks and a couple of scratches.

bump

detailersdomain 11-11-2007 09:23 PM

okay so if you are willing to start fresh go with this set up.

Clay bar for both cars would be a great start.

Porter Cable
6 inch counterweight
velcro backing plate
Lake Country: orange pad for Menzerna SIP (2 pads one for each car)
white pad for Menzerna po85 rd (2 pads one for each car)
black or blue pad for the final step (menzerna fmj would be the sealant)

Dubz 11-11-2007 10:05 PM

Are the pads reusable or should I buy a bunch. Also is there any special ways to apply any of these products?

detailersdomain 11-11-2007 10:54 PM

they are reusable.

Dubz 11-11-2007 11:02 PM

Is there any special way of applying any of these products and so I get two clay bars or just one. I appreciate your help.

detailersdomain 11-12-2007 01:47 AM

sorry for the delay for some reason I'm not linked to this thread.

get one clay bar and cut it into 3-4 pieces. As the piece gets dirty move on to the next clean piece. Depending on how bad the car is you should be able to get 1-2 uses out of each piece.

Nothing really special about the application.

Here are Menzerna products in action with the PC:
