New owner... washing question
Hey everyone, thanks for all the great info here.
I didn't see anyone that had posted information on my next question, therefore I'd like your input. As a new owner of an E70, I want to keep it looking as good as possible. But I'm having a hard time finding a way to clean the top. I'm not a tall guy by any means (5'9") and, while I tried a ladder, I found myself still too far away to clean the top comfortably. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! |
Get a brush with a long handle, RV stores have them and they extend out a long ways.

IN My Opinion yes that brush will scratch the paint.
I bought a micro fiber washing mitt attached to a pole. Kinda like this one.....http://www.amazon.com/Mr-Clean-98084.../dp/B00091VENC |

I'm not much taller than you. Had no problem washing or waxing the top of my X5. For rear part, I stood on rear wheel. The pole shown in this thread looks like a good idea though.
You want good terry cloth or micro-fiber towels to dry. You can find those from many auto or online (Amazon) store. You want to look at the www.detailersdomain.com who is a sponsor of this board --- they have a lot of product. |
A 2 step stool and .....http://www.autogeek.net/watspritplus.html

You can do that but here's the rub. #1 Unless you use a towel on the door ledge you risk scratching it and getting dirt and water on the carpet as well #2 you may have to hold on the the inside of the headliner and you could risk getting it dirty. Get a stool. I paid no more than $6.00 for mine.

I took my shoes off ;)
