For paint chips, based on the research I did, I purchased a "paint pen" from AutoVisuals.com I have not used it yet but it looks like a better solution that the typical touch-up paint.

As far as cleaning, waxing, etc. goes, you said you'd been to DetailersDomain.com Phil has a lot of stuff there and good prices; I can understand that you might find it difficult to know where to start. As mentioned, Phil might be able to recommend a couple of starter products.

Another option, because you're in the area, is to attend one of Phil's "detailing days" and get your car detailed. He might have one coming up this month; check his forum.

Oh, and welcome to X5world "where you come for the information and stay for the friendships!" :)

Detailers domain has a couple of starter kits. I can tell you first hand that Phil is first rate and I always receive my order the next day.You will also receive 10% off by using the X5 as the prono code when checking out.

As far as touch up, my only advice is to not try and over do it. Unless your chip is showing bare metal it should not rust.

Good luck with your new ride!

Let me know what you might need I can put a kit together no problem.

As for a detail day I'm not sure we can do everything you need during that time.

I would probably need the car for one of those Michelle deals
