Detailing 101????

Hey Phil - is there a step by step directions that you have for people that can't come over to get their rides detailed? Or for people from across the ponds? I want to detail my parents cars when I go home because as my mom would say "We are getting old!"

For example:
1) Wash/Shampoo car first or do the tires first?
2) Clay then wash?
3) Wash?
4) Wax?

Really do not know the steps to take...I was kinda hoping that I would have watch how you guys do the steps. I was disappointed that I had to bail on the Detail Meet March 8.

It doesn't have to be real detailed but, step by step would be awesome.

Thanks a bunch and will be ordering some stuff from you in the future.

Here is my routine
I clean my leather seats and let the cleaner and conditioner sit on the seats while I detail the exterior

1)Wheels
2)Wash Car
3)Clay then ReWash
4)Polish(if needed)
5)Sealant and or Wax

:iagree: Autopia - definitely the best resource for car detailing info.

I've picked up alot of tips from visiting the guys who run the Chemical Guys warehouse in Inglewood, a few blocks away from the Forum and Hollywood Park. These guys know their stuff; they sell primarily to pro detailers, and they love to show the customers how to use their products.

Do a google on Chemical Guys - their website wll pop right up.

I just cleaned my engine bay, and I only used paper towels and Armor All spray for plastics. Got all the dirt/sand, and made everything glisten.
