buy orbital polisher or take to shop
Hey guys,
I'm preparing to sell the wifes car (non-BMW) and it has some scratches in the clear coat (can't feel them with fingernail and the are white scratches on a green car). I've tried Mcguire's #9 but it doesn't take them off. My question is, should I spend the time, buy an orbital polisher and hit it with that...or.... let the shop that will do the interior detailing take care of it... thx |
If it's just the clear coat, an orbital polisher (I recomend the Porter Cable 7424) should be enough. I have had very good results with MENZERNA "intensive polish" followed by MENZERNA "final polish". I buy most of my detailing stuff from www.properautocare.com, they have an "ask the detail doctor" section that should answer all of your questions about how to remove scratches and what are the best products to use.

Depends upon your "time"/inclination, imo. If I was offing myCEO's car, I'd
let the detail guys clean it up for the trade-in/sale, etc. If you have some time on your hands and it's a "fun" task for you, have at it. I'd pick the detail guys, myself, lol! GL,md PS: What kinda "Doctor"? |
thx for the feedback guys. I'll take it in, doubtful I'll need a polisher very often.
Motordavid: Medicine. Chronic Pain more specifically... |
yeah, I can vouch for the portat cable as it is one of the best machines ive used for my car...
