What to use to clean black buttom bumper?
Hi,
I haven't found anything yet that works, so I thought I might ask everyone here for help. I want to know what is good to use to clean the black buttom bumpers? I want them looking like how it was when the car was brand new... |
The rubber/plastic stuff right?
Have you tried stuff like Pine-Sol? |
Exterior vinyl/plastic is always tricky...After trying many different products, I always come back to using the cheap stuff. Basically, because its cheap, and it works!
For any wax build-up, which I know gets pretty nasty looking, use a semi coarse brush for cleaning, along with the same stuff you wash your car with. Then just lightly dust it with some back-to-black, or, they now have a tar-ish looking substance that works great for mulitiple washes/waxes. But at 3 bucks a can of back-to-black, its worth it if you wax every other month or so. If youre a Zaino-head like myself, it will last you a month a pop. |
I use car wash det/soapy water, a wool car wash mitt,(most have a tougher nylon "grid" on the back side for gentle debris lifting), & some elbow grease...wipe off with old stolen hotel cotton towel and apply your Fave brand of "back to black", et al.
I like Meguiar's Vinyl shine, but there are a plethora of prods out there that vary lil'from each other. Any Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc., will have a shelf-full to pick from. GL,md |
after the car wash I use "back to black" from Mother's

Thanks, I will try that "Back to Back". How is this applied by the way?
|
I use a regular cloth and really work it in, I also use it for some of the black trim pieces inside the trunk
|
I tried the Back to Black, it works great. The only problem is that it's rather time consuming to get down on my hands and knees to apply. Never the less, I like the results. How long does this usually lasts? And this bottle is rather expensive. It was $7 dollars american.

AutoGeek sells Back to Black for $4.95 (not including s&h), but you can pick it up at any AutoZone for right around that price. |
