Old Windscreen Back To New

So I wash my X every weekend, like most members I guess. I can get the old girl looking pretty good inside and out, under the hood, inside the wheel wells, the black plastic trim etc but I'm left each and every time with the windscreen looking like it belongs on a post war relic with the glass within the wiper sweep decidedly different to the glass outside the wiper blade range. I suspect the rear window is the same as well. Yes, of course I clean it using a generic glass cleaner inside and out.

What do I do to get all the glass on the w/screen (& back window) looking new instead of having the sweep range, that is more than obvious whether the car is clean or not ?? Is their a product in the CEO's kitchen cupboard that works a treat or do I have to buy a special cleaner to restore all the glass back to brand new ??

Thanks in advance.

You could try using a clay bar. I "clay bar" my windows annually. Also, there's an "old wive's tale" about using Coka-Cola to remove water spots from windshields.

Good luck,
Randy...

I see some products out there like certain polishes and stiff foam pads for polishers made for cleaning up windshields. But the reviews are 50/50. Some say the products work great, some say it left the windshield covered in swirl marks and worse than before when driving towards the sun.

I guess the difference would be the quality of product and skill/technique of the person doing the job.
