painting callipers to paint or not to paint?

that is the question, and if yes what colour is best?red? black? gonna use hammerite and brush if i do it, and guess rather than having he rusted brown look any colour will be better (other than pink)

I have a black 4.8is. I had the calipers painted black. Very subtle, just cleans them up and looks much better than the rusty oxidized look.

I have been thinking about doing the same thing. Red is always sharp but you always see red. Black would def look nice and clean. I was thinking blue to match the LeMans Blue on my X but then again idk. Upload some pics if you go through with it.

I've got a white X and did red. Brushing leaves marks, I did the spray-on kind, three coats and it looks great.

I hate that oxidized rusty look but I'm not a huge fan of DYI colored painted calipers. My suggestion would be to clean the caliper using Sonax Wheel cleaner (search this forum). Then hit it with a few layers of clear coat. It will retain the silver look. Good luck.
