Sonax

Dumb question but I'll ask any way. Is the sonax wheel cleaner safe for newly powder coated rims?

On the web site it says its safe for all kinds of wheels including painted ones.

Product is a neutral pH. I've finally found a Canadian supplier and will try them on my powder coated rims without worry.

So I've used this twice on my powder coated rims and now when they dry they look like they are stained. I even washed them with soap and water and the stains are still there. WTF?

I used BMW wheel cleaner ,which seems to be the same product as Sonax on two sets of wheels and got poor results and yellow stains .

I tried comparison with Auto Glym wheel cleaner by cleaning one front wheel and one rear wheel from a Mini with Auto Glym and one front wheel and one rear wheel with BMW wheel cleaner .I cleaned the inner part of rims as they had years of baked on dust .
The Auto Glym cleaner required 30 seconds of brushing to get the wheels almost spotless using a soft brush whilst the BMW cleaner required a few minutes of brushing to get the rims only semi clean .
I was amazed at how easily the wheels cleaned up using Auto Glym .

i'll get some pics when i get a chance to wash the truck. It's almost like if u when u put the product on and it runs down and when u spray it off it looks clean but when u dry the rims u can see where the product was running down.
