This is the reply I got from BMW !!!

Dear Mr Traynor

Thank you for your email to BMW Customer Information.

We can confirm that the Sony Ericsson K608i has not been approved by our engineers for use with the Bluetooth preparation in our vehicles.

A full listing of all approved and compatible handsets and software versions can be found at the following web link:

www.bmw.co.uk/bluetooth.

As the handset you currently own has not been approved, there is no upgrade available to make your current handset compatible.

We hope this information is of use. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Have you tried pairing it? I have a Motorola RAZR with Verizon and was told it isn't supported but it works just fine.

Yeah, tried several times ! The car says 'Pairing Succeded' but my phone says 'The other device must enter the same code' and I have to turn my phone off to stop it, after that the phone just doesnt work with the car !! It looks like my phone is waiting for the car to send it a code, but I dont see how this can be done !!!

there's a pairing code that should be have been included in your manual set that you have to enter in your phone when trying to pair the phone with the bluetooth module in the car. My SonyEricsson 3G W900i pairs up fine with my bluetooth module (while my S700i didn't), I can access the phone book, read text messages as well. Now if only BMW could display chinese characters...then I'd be happier than a pig in s--t ... lol...

At www.bmwusa.com it shows that the Verizon Motorola RAZR is supported by BMW Bluetooth.

BTW, the Verizon Motorola RAZR is the V3c.

Check it out: http://www.bmwusa.com/NR/rdonlyres/6...oth_phones.pdf

Unhappy

Bought the Nokia 6680 and it kinda works !!! When you make/recieve a phone call, it uses the cars mic&speaker, altough you have to initiate calls using the handset as the phonebook doesn't sync with the car. I also found that the phone disconnects and then reconnects alot !

So all in all, its pretty useless (

Cheers

I've got the Nokia N70 3G. I'll give that one a go and see how I get on.
