Question What year Bluetooth; Pass key? Radio?

What year did the bluetooth become available for X5?

If stock radio was removed, would the hands free still work?

I bought my x5 used. How would I go about locating the Pass Key?

Thanks for your help!

I believe it stared for the 2005 models? I'm not sure. But it's always retrofittable. Try EIS (sponsor). It wouldn't work if the stock radio was removed to my understanding. You can always tell your service advisor your vin and he could tell you. Or you could locate it on the ULF yourself if you do have the module.

2005 it all began as a factory option ... in conjunction with BMW Assist.

Some 2004 models did come with a Bluetooth passkey in the user documentation, however this was a oversight in a rush to get bluetooth rolled out !!

Some '04's came with a passkey because starting in 3/04 (I think), '04 X5's with Assist came with a Bluetooth/Assist combo unit. However, bluetooth is disabled in those units.
