Problems with Bluetooth ! SE k750i sync problems

Right i'm having major problems with bt/bmw Assist in my new x5. firstly managed to sync up fine with the old nokia 6310, which was done by my dealer. however ive decided to upgrade my phone and purchased the SE k750i as it was one of the phones recommended by bmw. anyone had any experience with syncing this model. any specific things you have to do on the phone? i have the bluetooth turned on but the car doesn't seem to be picking it up. I still have the 6310 synced up to it aswell would that affect things? i get as far as the "activate phone" message but nothing comes up on the phone? and i checked the firmware/software versions today and its the compatible version so im pretty much stumped!

any help would be appreciated (some instructions on this phone model would be great lol)

I've only tried the bluetooth model in a test-drive car, and I haven't yet got our car (due Aug), so I can't provide you the "offical" answer that probably sits in the users manual, but here's my opinions:

On your device, check if bluetooth is visible for other devices (menu -> settings -> connectivity -> bluetooth -> visibility -> visible for all)

On the bluetooth module there should be some trick to enable more than one device, and to select which one to use. On the test drive, we couldn't also pair our own device until we removed all existing paired devices (from previous test-drivers probably) and started all from the beginning.
Remove the nokia and try to pair the sonyericsson. If it works, then try to re-pair the nokia and check on the manual how to switch between them.

If you need any hint on the SonyEricsson device (K750i and others) just message me.

As the post above says make sure your phone is not in hide mode also you can try this.

Start pairing
then search for new devices using the phone
then type in your pass code which is a little credit card sized card with a 4 digit code on it.

Then you sould be good to go. You can have up to four phone paired at once every time you pair another knocks the first one off.

If this still dont work try another phone I would try and get a w800i or W810i as these seem to work better some people have had troubles pairing K750

Good luck

In case you want to try to pair the devices starting from the device into the car, note the car bluetooth's name is BMWXXXXX.

Pair with that device and enter the pin as 4 of those 5 digits (don't remember if the first 4 or the last ones).

After this initial pairing you'll be asked again for your own pin as usual (enter some 4 digits in one device, and re-enter them in the other one).

I have the K750i and have had no problems with pairing it to the car. The car pics it up every time within about 5 seconds - Bluetooth on the phone is always on.
