Problem with the Treo 700p

Hi Everyone,

I just got the 700p and it seems to pair well with the X5's bluetooth. I do have the yellow light that comes on, but looking in the manual, it says that the system is using an alternate network, which is ok by me as long as it's working. Callers say that the call volume is a little low, but still audible. The main problem I'm having is when I get a call, the caller ID on the display in the X5 shows the info of the last number that called me as opposed to the current caller. Has anyone experienced this or know what I need to do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.

I think we'll have to wait till Palm releases an updated firmware for better bluetooth connectivity problems. With my last Verizon Treo 650, I had to wait for 3 upgrades before I would have good BT connection.

Hopefully, Palm will also fix the "slowdown" that the 700p tends to have as we load up more programs in its memory banks. I have about 29MB free and it is slowing down a little bit. But it has been rock stable with very few resets/reboots.

as an fyi, I bought and downloaded Volumecare Pro today. it really boasts the volume to more acceptable levels for the mic, earpiece, and speakerphone. I don't understand why the volume sucks so bad in the first place, but it seems like $20 well spent.

the volume on the phone is fine for me, and i can hear them ok as well.....but callers don't hear me very well when i'm using the X5's mic...it might be because the system is on a alternate network it didn't happen when i was using the e815

Still haven't done this but on a side note the battery went ka-put last night.
Verizon acted like they had some brains, opened the box of another 700P and gave me that battery. Waiting to see if thats all it is.

ka-put as in it wouldn't charge anymore or didn't hold the charge long enough? I've been noticing that my battery has been dropping down to about 40-50% by day's end, even though I'm not really using the web that much...maybe it's the bluetooth that's sucking up all the power. The phone itself has definitely been buggy...I've had to soft reset it several times.

If you leave bluetooth on it will drain the batt. As far as buggy is concerned that may depend on what applications you installed. The Applications for the 650 may not be ready for the 700.
