Blackberry compatibility

I'm considering getting the new T-Mobile Blackberry 8100 when it comes out in a couple of weeks, and I was wondering about compatibility. I would think that all Blackberrys use similar bluetooth software. Do they all work fine with the BMW bluetooth system?

Also, does the address book transfer or do you have to do that manually?

I tested my father's T-Mobile Blackberry 8700 in my car, and it worked perfectly. It will sync the phonebook, but it is handy to set it up to sync only the hotlist, that way it limits the numbers sent to the car and simplifies the address book considerably. The only thing that did not work was display of SMS messages on the nav screen, but hey, few phones do that anyway.

Sounds good.

The new blackberry is really cool. It's the size of a Razr, has a camera and a MP3 player.

Just got an 8700c...paired and downloaded phone book with no issues to my E39 M5 (kit from BimmerNav). But I've got a problem with the volume in the car (what I hear). It's too low. Specifically, for every call using the Bluetooth in the car, the volume defaults to 1/2 (shown on the Blackberry screen). I can't adjust it by rolling the track wheel, nor the +/- button on the steering wheel. Default call volume setting in the Blackberry is at 100% but still Bluetooth calls in the car are at 1/2 (bluetooth headset calls are at 100%).

Is there a setting I'm missing? Why does the volume show up at only 50% and isn't adjustable? Any thoughts?

Very slick. I have not seen anything about the 8100 yet. I have a RAZR now, but I am eagerly seeking my next phone.

Cute crackberry.....more pics and info.

The stealthy BlackBerry Stealth slinks behind the scenes no more. It's the BlackBerry 8100 and it's got a camera, microSD slot, EDGE data, and media playback functionality -- just like we'd expected (so where's the damn WiFi?). This should be due in November on Cingular (no guarantees), but expect an even earlier launch on T-Mo.

They are saying September 12th it's coming out for T-Mobile. Currently I'm with Cingular and I like them, but T-Mobile is better for Blackberrys. They charge $10 less, and the include a IM client where as Cingular does not.
