I have the W810i and it doesn't work with my car. I even debranded it and loaded the latest Sony firmware and no luck. I can get it to pair the first time but it will not pair again. Very bummed.

w850i software check

Mine is showing R1ED001 level
Follow below to check

Either "Menu" -> "Settings" -> "Update service" -> "Software version" or, if you don't have these options in the Settings menu then return to the main screen and...

Press right on the D-pad, let go
Press the * (star key) once
Press left twice
Press *
Press left, let go
press *

This will take you to the "Service" menu.
Select "Service info" (should be first option)
This will take you to the "Service info" menu (no, really?)
Select "Software info" (should be second option
The first line contains the version number. Will say something like "R4CE012" or "R4CF002" or similar.

NB The phone will go through what ever menu's and shortcuts are associated with D-pad movements but just ignore them and carry on!

No it wont fit. Plus I dont think it could be modded as the aeial port is different and the phone would not be sit sorrectly in the cradle, as the 750i and 810i have a small mark at the top, where the cradle locks in to keep it in place.

I have the SE W810i and it doesn't work.
I can get the phone to pair intially, but subsequent pairings fail. Did you have to do anything special? I wonder if this is an incompatibility with the TCU.

Whats the tcu ?

No probs with mine at all. Have full sat / tv / assist system. Not sure what you mean by tcu. I also have 2 of the w850i and both paired ok with exception of text.

I am sending back my W850i I have had a few problems with it dropping calls which I think is down to 3G network. How ever when I was in the states worked perfect. You can turn this feature off but I dont think it is any improvement over the W810i which I still have. The camera on the W850 is no where as good as the W810i.

I am getting a samsung D900 which I no I will regret but I did try it with the X5 and it worked. Dont think I will get text messages on the nav, But no big deal really.

I have the SE K750i and W810i and both work fine with my X. Only thing that doesnt come up on the Nav screen is the SMS text but suits me better like that anyway.
