Go to BMW's website, they put out a listing of phone compatibility.

Why would you buy a phone named after a confection just kidding.

i have a lg vx 8600 and it pairs fine with the car the only problem is that it doesnt load the phonebook, but the reception is much better than the razr i had before i had this phone. i think it works really well with the bluetooth with the x5 if you arent concerned about loading your phone numbers.

i will have to test my luck out..

Following is from some other forum:
" was worried about the dropped connections that people were talking about on the forums, but I tried it with my new chocolate phone and it worked flawlessly with our car's bluetooth. No pairing issues, no dropped connections, and the phonebook gets transferred too.

Some more spec info:
5er - 2006 e60 with CIP20
Chocolate - firmware v4 for Verizon, CDMA

Maybe the latest phone firmware fixed the connection issue? "

I am getting chocolate tomorrow, I will let you guys know about how it goes. Thanks for all your help guys.

Talking Lg Chocolate works with bmw bluetooth

I got my chocolate, and guess what?? It works perfectly. No drop connection, Yes phone book transfer. It works exactly like Razr. I will take Chocolate over Razr any day.
