BlackBerry 8700g wont pair with X5?

So work just provided me with a BlackBerry 8700g and I decided to finally try out the Bluetooth in my 2006 X5 4.4 w/o Nav. I spent the afternoon trying to pair the BB and X5 but all I got was no devices found on the BB and activate phone on the display? I spent several hours reading threads on this forum thinking maybe it was user error but found nothing. Am I destined for a trip to the dealer. Any help or advice is welcomed!

Thanks

UCrewX5,

This is the first time I have owned a Bluetooth enabled phone so I have never tried before.

Thanks

Hi, my 8700g paired up straight away with no probs...

Did you turn the ignition key to pos 1 before you pressed the pairing button? The instructions aren't clear in the post about this and if you didn't the car system thinks you are trying to make a call, and of course the phone isn't there so it asks for you to activate it...

Cheers
