Phone Unlock or ATT Sim?????

Gang:

I just bought the v600 Motorola and it is "locked" to ATT and the guy did not sell me the SIM with the phone. I take it to the ATT/Cingular store and they say they cannot do anything as the phone is locked and they cannot give me an ATT sim.

Anyone have a ATT sim?

Or

Anyone know how to unlock my phone?

Help! I want to do the retrofit but have crashed out of the starting gates.
