Bluetooth intermittent since ULF changed by dealer...

A couple months back, I noticed that the red led on the dash would always be lit up if I didn't have one of my bluetooth phones in the car with me. As described by others on this board, the dealer recognized the problem as an improperly programmed bluetooth module (problem seemed to occur shortly after the subscription on my BMW Assist service expired).

Well, after reprogramming (looks like they actually changed out the ULF according to the service invoice), no more problems with the led, but it seems that getting my phones...particularly my BB 8703...to handshake with my E53 is brutal. I've never had problems like this in 2 years with multiple phones. Not sure what is wrong other than the new ULF.

Anybody else have this issue...any suggestions other than taking it back to the dealer? Thanks.

Do you know the part number of the new ULF that the dealer installed?

It should be on the service invoice (I remember thinking it looked suspiciously like an older # rather than a newer one...). I'll see if I can track it down.

It will be on the unit itself. Also, I don't think it will be a ULF module. More a TCU .... if you had or have BMW Assist.

Phil,

There is a good chance the dealer installed an older TCU! They did it to me and I have read on this board before that I'm not the only one.
