NavCoder and Bluetooth

Hi all,

For those that don;t know me, I'm the author of NavCoder, the free software to code your BMW nav and enable TV-in-motion

Thought I'd let you know what else I've been adding and am thinking of adding...

I can read (and set) the Bluetooth passkey in the ULF module - does this help andone?

I can read and set the module name of the ULF

I can read and set the emergency phone number of the ULF

And I can read other ULF identity date.

Anyone think these features would be useful in NavCoder? Let me know...

Yes I do mate, I thing those features would be well handy, i've just retro fitted OEM BT and setting the BT and SMS stuff whould be very useful.

Be nice to have the SMS numbers as well, in a pull down. (depending on geographical location of course).

I've used navcoder to setup my new mk4 as well as the tv stuff, bloody great app...

If you need someone to test some of the "features" let me know, I'd be glad to help out.

John

Navcoder is excellent!

What would be helpful to use euro BT users is the addition to be able to "code" our ULF's to activate the voice input!

Just thought of something else, not BT related but any chance of modding the clock so you can have UK date format with 12 hour clock, I hate the US date format but like the 12h clock.

Could this be done.....

Can other features of a BMW - e.g. lock doors when moving, switch on lights when doors are locked be set via Navcoder?

Navcoder bluetooth

Hi

First off BIG thanks for navcoder, what an excellent piece of sw, I would like to be able to code ULF's to enable the SES voice recognition element as lots of units out there had this option disabled in the UK models.

I had my 540 coded with the BT SES retrofit code at the dealers but when i try different units the voice conrol only works on some so there must be a coding option in the unit itself.

This option would be great!!!

Thanks again for all you effort.

Jason

PS I was thinking about your mono to colour coding and wondered if you update the OS with an edited disc (replacing the data in the mono folder with the data from the colour folder)then recoded it would that work?
I have managed to get a mono unit to colour using the disc alone.

Regards

the emergency number coding would be good as well. The default emergency number is 112, which is useless in USA. If people could change that number to the BMW Assist number or BMW Roadside assistance it would make the feature more useful to get Bluetooth and assist.

Roadside Assistance is available from BMW direct, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Even if someone else is driving your vehicle, you’re covered. Coverage includes: New BMWs – 4 years/unlimited miles from the original in-service date. Certified Pre-Owned BMWs – 6 years/unlimited miles from the original in-service date. Call Toll Free: 800-332-4BMW (800-332-4269)

Question: can you view the emergency number somewhere?
I have seen the digits "1 12" iin the memory of the bluetooth and thought they might be the emergency number but I'd like to find a way to confirm this without cmaking an emergency call!

Do you still have your original, coded-by-the-dealer BT SES retrofit?
I'd like to read the memory of the unit - with your help

Jochen
