thinking about selling voice module and going BT

Hey guys,

Just trying to get things sorted out. I have a voice module I added to my 2002 4.6is which gives the basic phone and nav commands. I have DSP but I *don't* think I have Assist. Microphone is in place. I've read through UCrews install and I think I have it figured out. My question is, I'm not sure 'exactly' what I need and don't need to do this. I'll sell the voice module on ebay as it works fine. With BT in the vehicle do you still get NAV commands or is it just phone. I have a Motorola V710 and a SE600...

thx

David

Hey Doc, you are in the exact same situation that I was in. No, you don't have assist in an 02' btw. I sold my VM on e-Bay for $225.00. Then I bought the BT kit from Advancedautovation, see link here for my post LINK. I also bought the ULF module install bracket for a very clean original factory location install. The snap-in adapter that I bought is the same one that you need. I have the MOTO E815 btw. Just buy kit #2, the ULF bracket, and the snap-in for your phone. I love my new system, and would do it all over again. Your contacts may not transfer to the car with the V710 . Mine does though.

Please ask any further questions, since I just completed the install, everything is very fresh on my mind Oh yeah, you do get the Nav commands as well.

Greg

Thanks for the quick feedback Greg, sounds like this will be a fantastic upgrade. I had a look at your thread, the install looks great! So you bought kit #2 with the additions? My guess is that came in around $800? Also, what is the eject box? I assume you bought just the Kit#2 from Advanced Autovation and the snap-in stuff from Crevier?

thanks! Looking forward to doing this, guess I'll list the voice module on ebay

I actually bought kit #3 with the pairing button in the back because I originally thought I wouldn't use the snap-in up front. I changed my mind later. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought kit #2. The eject box replaces the empty tray just under your armrest, and the snap-in adapter fits into that. I think kit #2 is $650, add to that $25 for the ULF bracket, and another $120 for the snap-in adapter from Crevier. So you are correct on your total cost estimate. Then subtract what you sell your VM for of course. I can still probably find my e-Bay write up for the VM if you want to copy it
