Whistle What's the Trick-Razr & Adaptor for '07 E70

I read and have heard conflicting info on whether a snap-in adaptor for the Motorola Razr will work in the 07 E70. Being optimistic though, I bought one and after picking up my new X5 today tried to figure out how to make it work....The adaptor fits the Razr just fine (Part Nbr 84.21-0 415 023) but I don't see how the adaptor can fit in the console? The space available is way too long for the adaptor and I don't see any way to plug it in so that there will be power and an antenna connection. On the other side of my console I do have the iPod/USB cable in place and hooked with an iPod. The remaining side has a little platform/extension but no support for the adaptor and I don't think any way to plug it in.

Is there something here not obvious to me (i.e. operation error) or does this adaptor really not work with an E70? Help!

if you do not have the eject box there is nowhere to plug it in. Do you have an eject box?

No Eject Box

I didn't realize another device was required to enable the adaptor to work! I have seen the contraptions that others had made earlier to make adaptors fit older X5s, but figured we were past that. If I'm not mistaken, the snap in adaptor works properly in (some) other models of the BMW without further equipment. Are you sure an eject box is required for the '07 E70 in particular?

Here is a photo of what should be in the armrest to attach the snap-in to. It comes with a cover which you need to jettison using the eject button.

This should come automatically with bluetooth preparation. Have you tried pairing the phone?

all bmws require eject boxes to hold the snap in adapter. it is the design of the snap in adapter.

checkout http://www.bimmernav.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=96 for the snap in part numbers

US BMWs do not come standard with Eject boxes like the Euros do (in the above pic), plus the jellybeans are an option as well.

Does Anybody Have a Working Razr Snap-in Adaptor in an E70????

Thanks for the picture you posted showing the "adaptor" for the (snap-in) adaptor! Something like this looks like it could enable my adaptor to do its job. But I notice you are demo'ing something in an earlier model X5. The '07 models (with premium package) come with Bluetooth built-in, so there is no apparent need for an additional Bluetooth kit. Yet I surely see my adaptor needs something or there is a way of hooking it in that is counterintuitive...

Has anybody yet installed this Razr adaptor in an '07 E70, and if so, how did they do it!!!

Cheers,
Those are usually my breakfast when going to catch the early plane to London

As an aside, what else would you store in there?

The photos are from a European E70, not an earlier model. Apparently (See post above!) we get this as standard with Bluetooth in Europe, but it is optional with the bluetooth in US........crazy, crazy!

part number for the eject box is 84109141375....I think!
