Turning up the Volume

I have an issue where the volume in the car while on the phone is to low, I have a hard time hearing the caller. I have a 13th Generation ULF and an Iphone. I have already done the volume up with the voice command and turned up the bluetooth volume on my Iphone when I am talking on the phone. Is there anything else that I can do to turn up the volume?

Thanks,

Ron Aguilar

I have the same trouble with my '07 3.0si! The "hands free" is practically useless. I have to turn off all a/c, close sun roof/windows, ect.... to hear the caller! I don't think I need hearing aids yet!! I've tried all the ways to increase the volume to no avail. Hope someone has some ideas!

I actually did think it was just my hearing. I had someone in the car with me the other day and they said that they could not hear. I too have to roll up the windows, close the sun roof and turn off the A/C to try to hear what someone is saying on the other line. Lord help me if they are on a bluetooth as well because the volume is even lower!

Cant you just turn the nob on your stereo to implify the sound ?
As for the windows up thing, eaven if you culd heare, i dont think the person on the other end would appriciate you having windows down when talking on the phone

I can turn the stereo knob forever but the phone volume will only go above a whisper at max! As for the windows, I'm not on a call with all four windows down on the freeway!! The point is that it must be absolutely silent inside the cabin to hear a call and I wind-up sounding like my 93 year old grandmother "Can you say that louder?"!!!
Love the car and hate the bluetooth!

Could it be a problem with your microphone?
There seem to be 2 MICs available (older 84 31 8 380 319 - green base
newer 84 31 6 938 762 - all black), maybe try to replace it ?
Costs about $55...

I guess that your "Microsoft" BMW has issues with phone
I dont think that it has anything to do with the ULF as the rest of us with none idrive car are just fine. It has to be integration with "Micosoft" platform that is failing somwhere, cant you go to your dealer and make them fix it ?

I think that it has to do something with the ULF module. I had a first generation module and the volume was just fine. I do have the later microphone. As I said earlier, the person on the other end can hear me just fine even with one of the windows rolled down. I replaced it with a 13th generation module for the Iphone. I had issues with connectivity but that ended up being what was in the contact list. Anyway, does anyone else have any idea?

Thanks....

PS. I can not take mine to the dealer because 2001 X5 is not supported for bluetooth.

I installed the Bluetooth amplifier in my wife's 2004 325 Ci Vert. While it is MUCH improved in us hearing the person on the other line, it doesnt seem to help with the caller hearing us. I'm wondering how I can find out which version mic (keep in mind it's on the steering column) we have, and if an upgrade is in order.

HTH Ed
