Question Phone Carrier

Hi all,

I am about to change my phone company.

I am using Verizon and I don't like their phone selection. So I decided to change.

People told me that Cingular isn't good at all.

Has anybody have Alltel as a phone company?

Do they offer Bluetooth phone that will work with my X5?

Thanks in advanced.

I have Cingular and am very happy with them - much better than expected. I get coverage even when Verizon sometimes doesn't in my area (north of Boston). I tried Sprint and ATT but didn't like them near as much as Cingular. I also used to have Nextel and they were just fine, but they didn't have a bluetooth phone that would work with my X. That's when I switched. They may have them now - haven't checked lately.

Dosn't Nextel's i605 pair with the X5?

The coverage is obviously dependent on your location. Even that can change, depending on the addition of towers as time goes on.

I have had Alltel for several years, and have been very pleased with them. They don't cripple the Bluetooth capabilities on their phones, like Verizon does. I have a Motorola V710 that works very well.

Your best selection of Bluetooth phones will be with the GSM carriers, which is Cingluar and T-Mobile. In my opinion, you will get the best overall GSM coverage with Cingular, although your mileage may vary depending on the specific area that you typically travel in.

I have two phones, one on Verizon one on Cingular, the Cingular one has FAR better coverage then the Verizon.

My buddy has Alltell with a MOTO V710 and loves it. I paired it to my BT last night. I don't think the phonebook transferred though. I will have to look again. I used his as a test while I decide on a new cell phone.
