2004 X3 Bluetooth Retro w/BMW Assist

I new to the board so forgive me if there is an answer out there. I want to add Bluetooth to my 2004 X3 manufactured May 2004 with BMW Assist. I have searched for the answer, at the dealer today the solution is to install:

2005 Telematics (TCU) 84 10 6 963 798 List $1,754.50
Control Unit 84 21 6 934 552 $435.00
E83 ULF Ret 84 11 0 391 531 $192.50
Adapter 84 21 0 307 726 $125
Eject box 84 21 6 946 064 $90.75
Insert 51 16 3 401 961 $59.95

Not an inexpensive venture, but I should end up with Bluetooth, voice cammand, cradle/charger for the phone (Treo 650), and my Nav should still work along with BMW Assist.

Has any one tried it or am I the only person foolish enough to consider it, will Sirrus work with the configuration and what about Ipod intergration?

Please let me know.

Thanks
PAC
