Exclamation 13th Generation BMW Bluetooth ULF and Treo 700p works!!

Okay, just in case someone wants to retrofit BMW OEM Bluetooth in a BMW that DOES NOT have BMW Assist or if you are swapping a 2005 BMW Assist module with a Visteon ULF Bluetooth module....

With Tom from EAS help, I have confirmed that my Verizon Treo 700p with firmware _1.10 (the latest firmware from Sept 2007) will pair and operate (i.e. make and receive phone calls) with Visteon 13th Generation Bluetooth module.

The contact lists did not load up (which I expected not to work), but it will at least pair up and stay paired up with the BMW ULF Visteon Bluetooth module and you can make and receive phone calls with no problem.

We did try a 9th generation BMW Bluetooth module and it was still no-go just like my 6th generation BMW Bluetooth module. It will seem to pair up, but when it comes to making an actual phone call, it will not work.

If you have a new BMW with a Motorola TCU module that has a combination BMW Assist and Bluetooth, then your Treo 700p will work fine as I have confirmed that with my loaner car from last month.

Also, I believe that the Sprint and Verizon Treo 755p should operate the same way, but I have not personally tested it.

Tom from EAS can get the 13th generation BMW Bluetooth module.

Another reason to get the 13th generation BMW Bluetooth module is that it also works with the iPhone.

BTW, the part number for the 13th generation is 84 10 9 154 358.

Yes, the 2005 has the Motorola BMW Assist and Bluetooth built-in ULF....you will know it because you have a male voice for the voice recognition prompt.

The Visteon ULF, including the 13th Gen Visteon ULF still has a female voice prompt for the VR.

Also, my Treo 700p with the VZW-_1.10 firmware also worked with 2006+ BMWs with iDrive as I found out with my loaner BMW 535xi. The phone book loaded right up and synced right away.

In my case The Treo 700P required contact numbers to be in
the favorite portion of your phone. Nothing worked without
doing this.

Aside from that I cant answer your question.
